Our passion. Our love.
Our Story
The story behind Royâ — our modern Middle Eastern restaurant in the heart of Glasgow.
The relationship between food and culture is like a marriage. Although the food differs from country to country across the Middle East, one thing we all share is the culture of hospitality. The family values. The generosity. The love for food. You will never walk away from an Iranian, Arabic or Turkish table hungry — and that is certainly the case here at Royâ.
Royâ is not about recreating an “authentic” Middle Eastern experience. It's about eating great-tasting, unique food in a warm environment. We believe there are no rules when making delicious food — as long as you cook with love.
Our name, Royâ (رویا), means “dream” in Farsi. We wanted to create a place where the flavours of our heritage meet the energy of Glasgow — a dream turned reality. Welcome to our house. Enjoy the food.

What we believe
Generosity
Big portions, warm welcomes, and the Middle Eastern spirit of abundance.
No rules
Traditional techniques, modern twists. If it tastes good, it belongs.
Hospitality
You're not a customer — you're a guest in our home.
Our sister restaurant
Saffron by Paradise
Over in Glasgow's West End on Great Western Road, our sister restaurant Saffron by Paradise serves authentic, traditional Persian cooking — fragrant saffron rice, slow-cooked stews and charcoal kebabs, the classics done properly. Same family, same love for the table; a little more traditional in spirit.
